Q: What is Semicentral.com’s commission and what does it cover?

Answer

Registration and Listing components for sale is free. When your components sell, we collect a commission equal to 20% of the total amount of the sale. We deduct the 20% commission automatically before we send your payment. Please keep this in mind when deciding on the sale price of your components.

For example, if you list one component for $100.00 and someone purchases that component for a total sale of $100.00, Semicentral.com’s commission will equal $20.00 and your payment will equal $80.00.

The 20% commission helps us maintain a safe, secure place to buy and sell components. Our system ensures a convenient, reliable service you can trust. When you sell at Semicentral.com, you get the following benefits:

Q: My components have sold. What do I do next?

Answer

As soon as your components sell, we’ll send you an order notification email. Follow the link in the email to log into your account and confirm the order – even if you no longer have the parts. The confirmation page will appear showing the following:

Please confirm all orders within 24 hours as per the seller agreement. If your order remains unconfirmed for more than 24 hours from the time of your email notification, we may choose to cancel the order and find alternative components for the buyer. Your seller ratings are affected by your order acceptance ratios, an important measurement that buyers will see when choosing to buy a particular inventory. Failure to confirm orders will impact your seller rating and may result in the closure of your account.

Q: When will I get paid?

Answer

We will process your payment 7 days after we verify the buyer received the components. Payment will be made by direct deposit into your bank account.

Q: Why do I have to wait 7 days for the payment to be processed?

Answer

Ensuring accuracy and quality is our top priority and is in the best interest of both buyers and sellers. A 7 day period allows the system to collate shipment accuracy information and calculate seller rating data.

Q: How do I set prices on my components?

Answer

It’s up to you to decide the sale price of your parts. Enter your desired price per item listed. Remember, when your items sell, we collect a 20% commission from each sale, which we deduct prior to sending your payment. Be sure to keep this in mind when deciding on a price.

To help you decide on a price you might look at the sale price of other listings for the same item. Or you can use the MSRP to give you an idea of what the market value of your components may be. We cannot guarantee that your items will sell. We don’t collect a commission if your components do not sell.

Q: I no longer have the components listed for sale. What should I do?

Answer

If you no longer have the components you listed, deactivate or delete the listing immediately.

If you receive an order for items you no longer have, you must inform us of your situation. The sooner you let us know, the better we can assist the buyer. This will reduce the likelihood of receiving a poor seller rating.

Q: Why do you have to authorize my credit card?

Answer

We ask for a valid credit card or debit card to verify your account information. As part of our guarantee, this security measure helps protect against fraudulent charges and invalid listings. You must stand behind the authenticity of the products you sell on semicentral.com. By providing this information, you are helping to make the semicentral.com marketplace more secure

We accept Visa or MasterCard debit cards or Visa or MasterCard credit cards.
